About Us

Offshore Marine Surveyors was established in 1995 by Paul Peter (Pete) Slawek.  After working in the marine industry in New Jersey for 10 years, 8 years as licensed captain, Pete relocated to Florida. He attended Chapman's School of Seamanship in 1995 graduating with a certificate in yacht and small craft surveying. Soon after, he teamed up with veteran marine surveyor Al Verilli.  Pete and Al worked together until Al passed away in 1999.

Pete is comfortable surveying both power & sailing vessels.  His surveys are accepted by all financial institutions and insurance companies and he is listed on Boat/US surveyor’s referral list.
